The Permanently Temporary Landing Page…

If you got here looking for you’re in the right place, but while is under development I’m temporarily redirecting to this old temporary page which also is home to my development server.

If you got here looking for your site in development on my server please check the link I’ve given you for your site and then give me a call if you’re still having trouble.

The old Permanently Temporary Page Follows:
I’ve been getting many requests from clients and friends for a “link to my page” which is a wonderful thing. I truly appreciate all the referrals that have been keeping me busy. I’d just carry on based on word of mouth forever if I could, but how can I tell clients that it’s damaging not not have anything out the web and then not have anything on the web myself. So here it is a page on the internet.

This page also serves to warn you just just how boring and bland the DIYThemes Thesis Theme for WordPress looks “straight out of the box” and why if your not a developer you probably want to hire one. Along those lines take a look at some of my recent work based on Thesis and see just what can be done with it:

Recent Work:

WLP Consultants – This highly customized corporate site was another start to finish job including all design and development. Be sure to check out the custom sliders on the Solutions, Success and Self-Assement Pages.

Psychic Shirley – Designed to mesh with Shirley’s fun and lighthearted personality this site primary aim was converting site vistors coming from Google and Yelp into paying clients. Built on the Genesis framework, web fonts and a little slidedeck jQuery too.

Erik Taylor’s Fitness – This site’s goal was to highlight Erik’s personality and showcase his growing video library.

Howie from Maui – Howie from Maui has long sold photographic products in physical store fronts in Hawaii including Long’s Drugs and Wal-mart. This, there first website, was designed to both highlight there brand as well as sell products direct to consumers. Be sure to checkout there store locator too!

Leslie Sophia Lindell Photography Blog – After building a blog for one of her client’s Leslie asked if I could do the same for her, a few days later I again created a custom WordPress them to match the existing site design.

Bloomingayles – I was called upon to create a blog based on existing site design. A custom wordpress child theme was built using the Studio Press Genesis theme framework to exactly match the existing site design. Being able to upload photos and posts directly from the client’s phone was a key requirement so I built in easy to use post by email functionality

SPARK! Circus – This charity site was built pro bono to help out great cause. As you may guess my history with this group goes back a few years and I was delighted to help out, now go donate and help them out too!

Positive Portions: Daily Inspiration for a Healthier You – This rush build site was completed and live in under a week to coincide with the author’s TV appearnce. I’m quite proud of what was done in such a short period of time.

The Monterey Company Blog – This job started as a simple “please convert my wordpress blog to the highly search engine optomizable Thesis Theme for wordpress, but ended up as a complete redesign.

My Persian Kitchen – A wonderful food blog which I quickly spiffed up for a friend and am now in the process of a major redesign of, stay tuned to this one!

Gitana Blog – A blog I’ve spent a some time customizing the front and backend of for @SuuperG whose ability to garner Twitter followers continues to blow me away, she’s well on her way to Social Media Queen-dom having just passed 20K followers. Check her out!

Personal sites (all works in progress that get about as much attention as this page):

Wandering Jon Digital Nomad – My travel blog, which is going through a slow transition to something new… The content is ancient, and I sometimes use it to test themes and ideas, soon I’ll start blogging there again.

Jonathon Brown Photo Services – My professional photo services site, something else I cobbled together quickly so I didn’t have to point people to the personal blog, it’s good thing that I’m too busy to put a proper site up right? No the truth is that lately web development has been my priority and photography is taking a little bit of a back seat for now.

Friend’s sites I try to help out on (mostly with development, sometimes with a little design)

Tribal Rendezvous – I help out Rachael a little things on the back end of this site but the beautiful design was 100% her doing.

[Update #1] My other personal sites, and maybe this one, will soon all be converted over to StudioPress’s Genesis Framework instead of Thesis. I’m tempted to leave this up just to show how bland default Thesis is. While I will continue to develop on DIYThemes Thesis Themes for clients whenever requested, I am moving myself towards themes that honor WordPress’s GPL licensing like StudioPress’ Genesis Framework.

[Update #2] has been moved over to Studio Press’ Gensis frame work, pretty painless move and I like the results
